About us

Set amidst peaceful countryside, The Barn’s design was chosen to preserve as many original features as possible; that’s why you will find exposed beams, authentic stonework and the wonderful floor-to-ceiling window that not only makes the interior light and airy but also affords wonderful views of the North Pennine hills beyond.

The Barn has a patio looking across a meadow to the Grassholme Reservoir Nature Reserve. There is fishing on the reservoir and the Pennine Way passes within 50 yards of the cottage. The cottage is near to Middleton-In-Teesdale with its village shops and pubs serving meals, and is a superb base for walking or touring the whole of the beautiful, unspoiled Northern Dales.
